Fall is such a great time of year, especially the month of October !My family and I have lots of fun getting into the spirit of the season! Here the boys are showing off their haunted house!

I let my creative juices flow! I know I'm not as creative as some people out there but I had fun helping my kids with their costumes. Gavin decided to be a wizard!

Brogan decided to be a mummy!

Camren was a clown and I was Pippi Longstocking!

I made Halloween pajamas for the boys!

I decided to try out a few new Halloween decorations!

We always love to go to the the pumpkin patch! They have such fun activities. We enjoyed the corn maze, slides, and picking out just the right pumpkin!

Then of course we have to decide how to carve them.

Brogan wanted the skull, Gavin chose the Mickey Mouse and we went with a traditional jack-o-lantern for Camren!

Camren's 1st Birthday!

My baby turned 1 on September 4th. I can hardly believe it. Time sure flies by! We had a farm yard birthday party for Camren. It is tradition in our family(though some might say ooh gross) that the birthday person gets to lick the cake batter off the spoon or beaters. Camren sure enjoyed it!

Camren's birthday cake was fun to make and I like how it turned out! It tasted good too. I took pictures of it as soon as I was finished and it is a good thing too, because the sylo tipped over and crushed the fence!

We had some yummy sweet pork burritos and lemon lime punch for dinner!

Camren wasn't sure what to do with the candle on his cupcake, but he thought it was very neat!

He wan't sure how to open presents either, but his brother's and some cousins were sure to help him. Of course he loved the wrapping and boxes more than the gift itself.

He got some very nice gifts from everyone that came to his party. He was one very spoiled boy for his birthday.

I think he definately approved and had a good time! Thank you to all those who came to Camren's party. It was nice to have you here.

Ada County Fair 2010

This year we went to the fair with Gramsie, Aunt Ellie, Aliyah, and Lorelli. We had fun looking at the differnet animals, checking out some of the booths, trying a few rides out, and eating some yummy, greasy food!

The boys have been asking me to give them cooking lessons, which I think is great, but there is only so much you can teach a 6 and 3 year old. I thought we would probably be safe starting out with a salad!

We even used some fresh veggies from our own garden!

Our garden did o.k. this year. Everything was kind of on a miniature scale though, except the zucchini!

Brogan's 1st day of a school as a 1st Grader

Brogan's 1st day as a 1st grader went very well! He was very excited too go to school a full day. He really likes his teacher, Miss Hasart.

He wanted to take his own lunch so I let him pick out a lunch box. He chose the shark one you see here. Once in a while he eats hot lunch, but mostly he takes his own.

He enjoys school and loves library day. He always picks out interesting books to bring home.

Farley Family Reunion 2010 Colville, WA

We were going to attend the Phillips family reunion this year in Washington, but it was canceled due to several different things. The Farley's were still game for a get together though, so we decided to have our own family reunion! It was so much fun!

We did a favorite family tradition for familiy night......SKITS! We split into three groups. Each group had to pick ten props to put into a sack. Then we exchanged the sacks and had to come up with an impromptu skit using the props. We also had to incorpaorate a gospel principle. It was a riot!

We spent a day at a camp ground near where my parents live. It was much cooler there. The kids played in the stream, we played card games, went on hikes, and had a hot dog and marshmallow roast!

We spent one day at the park. We played lots of different games including water balloon volley ball and horseshoes!

We spent a couple of days down at the river trying to keep cool! The water is freezing but that didn't stop just about everyone from jumping in. The sand is always a hit too.

Mom and dad let us camp out in their yard! It was perfect! Thanks for a great time everyone!

We didn't get a community pool pass this summer, but Brogan

and Gavin had fun playing in their little wading pool! They

had water fights with the hose and water guns.

They even included Camren in the fun!

but he doesn't look all too thrilled either!

Papa Steve has been asking for pictures of the kids, so

one Sunday I decided to do a photo shoot at the temple.

Needless to say it is very hard to get my boys to

pose decently for any picture. Anyway, here are a few

    Seth had to leave for another class again! He left the end of July! Before he left we decided to do a family vacation. We only had a short window of time in which to take our vacation and we couldn't really decided where to go or what to do. So we decided to do a "Staycation"! We stayed in our home town and just did a bunch of fun things. We did some miniature golfing. Brogan is very good at this "sport"! We went to the Discovery Center. Seth hadn't every been, so the kids had to show him all their favorite exhibits. We did some picnicing, swimming, and bike riding. We went to Monkey Business, which is a really fun play center. We ate at some yummy restaurants and got some Coldstone icecream--YUM! We had a lot of fun!
    We had to fit some yard work in there to. We had a very huge maple tree in our front yard that we need to cut down. Yeah it was pretty sad. It got sick and died! It was our biggest and best tree and there was nothing we could do for it! Seth spent a few days with the help of his mom and some of his brothers  and the neighbors trying to get the darn thing out! It was such a pain in the back, but they finally got it!
    The time went by fast and Seth had to leave for Kentucky! He is taking a master gunners course for the tanks. It is a really intense course but he is doing very well and will be back the end of September. Yea! He is almost done!

I didn't get very many pictures of Jan's "SURPRISE!"

birthday party. It was suppose to be a surprise, but I

think she knew about it. I think she may have even guessed

that us girls were taking her to see the Eclipse movie! Oh well

we still had a ton of fun. We had two kinds of enchiladas and a

green salad for dinner. For dessert we had chocolate cheesecake,

since she LOOOVVES chocolate. I hope she had a great birthday!

Just Catchin' Up

Ward Campout

This is the first year we have went to our ward campout! I was tired of waiting for Seth's schedule to work out, so I packed up the boys and took them campin'. There was a really good turn out.
While I set up the tent with the help of some friends Brogan got in on the water gun fight. He got soaking wet. Gavin later joined, but didn't get quite so wet. I only packed one extra set of clothes since it was just an over-nighter. Brogan was freezing as the sun was going down. He had to change into his P.J.'s.
Everyone was supposed to bring their own dinner, so I went as easy as possible. We had sandwiches. It is always so hard to get Brogan to eat when there is friends or cousin's or anyone to play with around. He is so social! So he had a blast!
Then we had a talent show around the campfire while everyone toasted marshmallows for s'mores. We stayed up late and had fun visiting.
The bishopric cooked breakfast in the morning! It was yummy! Then we broke camp and did some more visiting. Everyone kept saying how brave I was for going to the campout without Seth. I just kept saying, "It's just for one night!" It was fun and I'm glad we went. Maybe someday Seth will be able to go!

Family Campout at Hagerman

Sorry, no pictures again! We got rained on quite a bit, so we didn't bring the camera out. We had a fun time in spite of the weather.
It was a pretty nice campground. We could see the river, but were far enough away so we didn't worry too much with small children. Seth and the older two boys slept in the tent while Camren and I slept in the van. I was afraid he would wake everyone up at night. We had lots of fun visiting, we had yummy food and treats, and some fun activities for everyone.
We got to see an alligator farm. I thought they were gonna be little baby ones, but these were huge, fully grown alligators. We also got to see some really big fish and cute lily pads.
The guys were able to do some fishin' one night, while the girls visited and tried to keep the kids entertained. The kids actually got along really well and the mom's didn't really have to do much by way of entertainment! We did bring a few activities for the kids though. Aunt Valerie brought stuff to make puppets, Aunt Erin brought play dough, and I brought stuff to make stamps. We also played" kick the can" with a neighboring group of campers! We got to go swimming in the wonderfully heated pool one day. It was fun. It took Camren a little while to get used to the water. He is NOT a water baby. Brogan and Gavin however love to go swimming and took to the water like fishies.....with floaties!
The dad's took the kids fishing on our last morning there. They were reeling in fish left and right! All in all I think everyone had a great time!

Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure!

While I was competing in the "Better Me Competition" I decided to train for a 5K. I decided to run the race for the cure. I mentioned it to my sister-in-law, Erin, and she wanted to run it too. My mother-in-law and other sister-in-laws and two nieces decided to join our team and walk the race.
I did better than I thought I would. I was really happy with my time. I'm glad Erin ran it with me. She did awesome, beat me by about a minute.
I had a really good time. It was a great experience, one I would like to repeat again and again.
I'm glad I could do this with my in-laws and nieces too!

The Better Me Competition!

My friend Whitney decided that she wanted some changes in her life and thought it would be fun to make it a competition as a good motivator. It was $10 to enter or $15 for a couple. So I decided to join and signed up a bunch of my family members. The competition lasted 8 weeks. There was 8 goals.....

1. Spiritual goal/7 days a week=7 points a week
2. 7 hours of sleep per night/7 days a week=7 points a week
3. Eat 5 fruits/veggies/7 days a week=7 points a week
4. No sweets or junk/5 days a week with 2 free days=5 points a week
5. Drink 64 oz. water/7 days a week=7 points a week
6. Don't eat after 8 p.m./ 7 days a week=7 points a week
7. Exercise 30 min./5 days a week=5 points a week
8. Exercise 30 min./5 days a week=5 points a week

There were about 27 people signed up to begin with. After the first couple weeks we had about 10 people drop out. Then soon it was down to 12.The first week for me went perfect! The second week I gave up a point to have some carrot cake on my free day, but it was after 8 p.m. When I looked at the status sheet after that, I realized I was gonna have to stick to my guns if I was gonna have a chance at winning or even placing.
By the end of 8 weeks I was still in second place status, their was still 5 people tied for first place.
For second place I got $20. Yea! I doubled my money and lost 10 lbs. to boot.
It was a tough competition sometimes, but fun. I'm glad I did it.
I'm sorry to say I haven't kept all the good habits though. Lately I've been thinking I need to start them back up!

What???? Six Years Old...Are You Kiddin' Me?!!!

Yep, that's right! Brogan turned 6 on May 3rd!
He wanted to have an "Under the Sea" birthday
party. We invited his grandparents, aunts, uncles
and cousins who live in the area to join us for the festivities!
We had pizza, Kool aid, fruit salad, veggies and dip.
I had fun making this birthday cake. It was a double layered
vanilla cake with chocolate butter cream frosting in the center
and cherry flavored butter cream frosting on top! Yum!

Balloons, streamers and fish were our decorations!

Brogan was totally spoiled. He received many

fun gifts. Iron Man was kind of popular! Thank you
everyone!

Birthday to!

Brogan is a very special boy! We are so blessed
to get to have this little guy in our family. He is a
great big brother. He loves his little brothers very
much. He is good at sharing.
Brogan is one of the most creative kids I know. He
loves doing craft projects. He loves making up stories.
He loves make believe.
Brogan has been a good student in Kindergarten this
past year. He has learned so much! It is fun to see him
reading and sounding out words. His favorite subject is science!
Brogan, I can't believe you are already six! We love you
and can't wait to see what another year will bring!

Seth got home from Georgia just in time for Easter! I didn't get any pictures, but we were very ecstatic! We really didn't do many of our Easter traditions. We just had fun hangin with dad! We got together with some of Seth's family for dinner and Easter egg hunts! It was a nice weekend, but ended way too fast. Seth had to go right back to work on Monday!

So.....I have a ton of stuff to catch up on. What's
new huh? The week before Seth came home
from his twelve weeks in Georgia, we took a
trip to Rexburg to visit my sisters. I didn't
take very many pictures, but here are a few.
We also got to go visit my Grandma Farley.
I don't get to see her nearly often enough.
This was the first time she got to meet Camren.

My kids don't get to see her very often either.
I'm sure glad we were able to visit with her for a while.
She is such a sweetheart!

I was able to meet my new little nephew too.
His name is Archer Thomas Clark!
What a cutie!

I wish we all lived closer together. We
sure have fun when we get together!

St. Patrick's Day

We love celebrating St. Patrick's Day at our house.
First we have to find something green to wear
so we don't get pinched. Mom always finds fun
things to eat that go along with the holiday!
Lucky Charms and green milk for breakfast!

For lunch we had shamrock egg salad sandwiches,
key lime yogurt, green milk, cheetoh's, carrots, and a
green snowball for dessert!

Mom found some fun coloring sheets and mazes
for us to do at dinner time. We had some more green
food for dinner. Pasta died green, green jello,
broccoli, and green kool aid!

We made these fun bowler hats! Aunt Tressie
joined in the festivities!

Shamrock sugar cookies and pastachio pudding
topped off our green food for the day!

That mama sure has some cute leperchauns!

Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss

Here's our shout out to Dr. Seuss on his 106th birthday!
We love his quirky, fun books! Brogan's school sent a letter
home saying that the kids could wear a fun hat today for
Dr. Seuss's birthday, so I decided it would be fun to try
and sew these hats. I think they turned out pretty cute!
The boys had fun wearing them, especially Gavin. He
hardly took his off all day!

More Birthday Celebration!

As I said before in a previous post that I was not looking forward to turning 30. I really thought this was going to be a very forgettable birthday, but no one was going to let that happen. My in-laws threw me a birthday party filled with yummy food, gifts and fun. I had a great time!

My kids wanted in on the action too and made me these.......

The Thursday before Valentines was a very busy
one for us. We had lots of fun activities planned.
First, Gavin had a Valentine's party at preschool.
Whitney planned the party. They focused
on the letter "O" The kids decorated paper bags
to collect their Valentine's from each other in. She
told them a story about Mr. O, and they had a
treasure hunt to find orange frosted Valentine
cookies.
Second, we had a Valentine party at our house
for our play group. We read a funny Valentine
story!

We frosted cupcakes and decorated them with
sprinkles and candies!

We made a fun Valentine butterfly craft!

The kids played special agents on the bunkbeds!

We had lots of yummy treats and snacks!

I found this neat craft in the "Family Fun"

magazine. It's called an oracle. It's like those
magic 8 balls. It was fun to make and I had
to share with everyone at the party!

Maybe everyone had fun. I did and thanks to
all those who came!

That night my friends planned a girl's night out.
My birthday being our excuse to get together. We
played some fun games. I love to play games!
Then we had some delicious cheesecake. There was
also chocolate mousse, but my baby doesn't like me so
much when I eat chocolate so I'll have to try some
of that next time. I don't like being the center of
attention, but they made me blow out candles.
I am so blessed to have such great friends.

Turning 30 is not something that I was looking
forward to, but for some reason it turned out ok.
One reason is that I got one of my birthday presents
early. I wanted my parents to come stay with me
for a few days while Seth was gone for 12 weeks
at a training class for work. So he bought them
plane tickets so they could fly into Boise and
stay a few days. We had a lot of fun. My kids
absolutely adore their grandma and grandpa
Farley as they do all their relatives. We did
some fun things while they were here. Here
are some pictures at the Discovery center.

while grandma and grandpa were here. They
treated us to the movies. We saw Avatar. It was
a really neat movie. We did a little bit of shopping, a lot
of Wii playing and a lot of visiting. I know my kids wore
grandpa out. They had to get some wrestling in while
there was a man in the house. Thanks for being so helpful
grandpa. Grandma and grandpa also gave their fair share
of piggy back rides. I'm so glad they were able to come
and visit! Thanks honey for the great b-day present!

Deidra and her family came to visit us in the middle of January! We had so much fun. I completely forgot my camera, so there are no pics of our fun times. We went to the Discovery Center and had a great time checking out all the neat things. The kids enjoyed shopping in the Discovery Market, playing in the green room and trying out the different experiments. One day we went to Chuck E. Cheese. It was fun playing all the arcade games and spending time together. I'm glad they were able to come. We had a really nice visit and the kids enjoyed playing together.

Science Geek......just kiddin'

Christmas

We had a really nice Christmas. I am a slacker
and didn't get pictures of very much, but here
are some of Christmas Eve and Christmas morning!
The boys are opening their Christmas P.J.'s!

This is Camren's 1st Christmas. He's not sure what

to think!

Brogan was so excited that Santa remembered
he wanted Bakugan's! They are all the rage at
his school!

We spent half of Christmas day and that weekend

at Valerie's house (my sister-in-law). We had a great
time. All of Seth's family was able to make it. There
was good food and great company. Thanks Val and everyone
for making it a wonderful Christmas!

Gavin's Mickey Mouse Birthday Party!

Here is my birthday boy who just turned 3!
I can't believe how fast it's gone by. My kids
grow way too fast! Gavin wanted a Mickey
Mouse Birthday. He loves Mickey Mouse Clubhouse!
Especially the Choo-Choo Express episode!

I love this picture!

I wasn't sure if I would have time or even be able to
create a Mickey Choo-choo Express Cake(even though
I really wanted to make an attempt) so, we just ordered
this one from Walmart! We shared with some aunts,
uncles, cousins and grandparents who live close by.

I sure love this little guy. He is definately smart for a 3 year old.
He keeps me on my toes and always laughing
(well and sometimes screaming haha)!

Gingerbread Houses

We had fun getting ready for Christmas! Putting up
the decorations, doing our "count the days til Christmas"
Christmas bags, shopping, and.....gingerbread houses.
Brogan and Gavin were so excited to decorate
their own little gingerbread house. I think they
were even more excited to eat the little candies.

Here I am assembling the houses. It was quite
a project!

Raisins On Your Face

It is funny how kids perceive things! Brogan said something quite funny about a month ago. I had to write it down so when I had time I could post it on the blog. Brogan had found a medal that Seth was just awarded by his boss and asked if he could have it. Seth said, "When I get old, you can have it buddy." Then Brogan got excited and said, "Yeah, dad, when you get old and get raisins on your face I can have it." I don't know if you will find it as funny as we did at the time, but that guy sure cracks me up from time tot time!

Play Group

So we joined another play group. We go to a
play group that meets twice a month with our
church friends, and then we go to this one with school
friends that usually meets once a week and we just
pick and choose the ones we can make it to. These
pictures are when we went to the fire staion. It was
really neat and the kids loved it. It was very informative
too, I learned a lot.

The kids also got to get inside an ambulance
and talk to one of the paramedics.

Brogan was so excited to climb in the fire truck.
Gavin was excited until it came down to it, then
he got all shy and wouldn't get in.

We were all pirates at our house for Halloween,
well except for Seth. He is not much for dressing
up (party pooper). We didn't get any pictures of me
(shucks), but here are some of my little ship mates!

Gavin decided to put his "Boo Bug" eyes on his orange jello!

Playing Photographer

So this is me pretending to be a photographer. Yeah, I need a little practice, o.k a LOT of practice and maybe one day I'll be half way decent. But you can't deny the fact that these are some of the cutest little boys you ever saw. (Yes, I am biased, I'm their mother of course!) Anyway, bare with me there are quite a few pictures (sorry). Camren is eight weeks old in these pictures just in case you wanted to know. He just had his 2 month check-up last Thursday and is weighing in at a hefty 12 pounds. Yep, he is topping the charts at 75% for height an weight. Yay Camren!

Baby Blessing

We blessed Camren on September 26 at home. We have
blessed all our little guys at home and it just seems to
work well for us. Most of Seth's family were able to attend.
Papa Steve did the honors, while Seth and his brother Jared
and Bishop St. John stood in the circle. Gramsie took notes
for us and was able to make a copy of his blessing for us to
put in his scrapbook. Tressie, my sister, also came to the
blessing. Deidra and Michelene, two of my other sisters
were going to come, but got sick at the last minute. Shelly,
my good friend and her kids came too. It was so nice to have
friends and family come and show their support. Thanks to all
those who could make it and those who wanted to, but couldn't
(we know you love us.) I had more pictures but couldn't seem to
get them to upload. Camren just didn't want his picture taken,
poor little guy. If I can get those other pictures to work I'll
have to edit this post.

It is crazy how fast babies change. These pictures were taken when he was around 2-3 weeks old. He is now 6 weeks old and weighs 10lbs. 4oz. and is just over 22 inches long. I wish this newborn stage lasted longer. It goes by way too fast.

This isn't a really great picture, but you can kind of see his adorable little dimples in this one. I'll have to see if I can get a better picture.

Friends and family came to visit us at the hospital. We didn't get very many pictures though. Sorry. Valerie took a bunch, but they didn't turn out. Here is baby Camren with his Gramsie. She is always so excited and supportive. We are glad she could come and visit when the baby was born.

Brogan and Gavin were so excited to meet their new little brother. They got to come to the hospital to see him. At first Brogan didn't want to hold him, but then he warmed up to the idea. Gavin could hardly wait to get his hands on him. He practically mauled poor Camren. They sure love him and are big helpers.

Yes, I have finally found some time to post some pictures of my sweet new baby, Camren James.
He was born on September 4th, 2009 at 2:57 p.m. Weighing in at 7lbs. 2oz. and 19.25 inches long. My biggest baby. (More details at the bottom for those of you who are interested.)

Camren wasn't due for another two weeks, so when I started having contractions early I was pleasantly surprised. I was secretly hoping the baby would come Labor Day weekend so he could meet my parents and some of my brothers and sisters. They were going to be stopping on their way home on the 9th of Sept. So if Camren came on Friday the 4th or Sat. the 5th, that would give me time to get home from the hospital and get settled in at home a little bit before they came. As you know Camren was very accomodating. What a good boy, minding his mommy from the get go.
Anyway, so I started having contractions around 2 in the morning on the 4th. I got out of bed and started getting things ready to go just in case. Then they practically stopped. So I thought false alarm. Well needless to say I didn't get much sleep that night. The contractons kept coming back then slowing down. I was very confused all day. If I was up moving around, the contractions would come hard and closer together, then I would sit down and they would either slow down or completely stop. I took Brogan to school and was even able to pick him up. Around noon I was thinking I wanted to go to the hospital and get checked. I was just afraid they would send me home because the contractions weren't coming regularly, but they hurt like crazy. We called Levi, my brother-in-law, and asked if he could watch the kids. He came and picked them up and then we were on our way to the hospital. We arrived about 1:25 p.m. and it is a good thing we did because I was dilated to a 6 1/2. I really wanted an ephideral (however you spell it), but needed to have a whole bag a fluids administered before I could have one. By the time that happened it was too late. ARRGGHHH! They gave me a spinal block that did practically nothing. I definately felt that baby coming. I wish I could say I wasn't one of those crazy ladies who screamed and said " I CAN'T DO THIS!", but I was. How imbarrassing!
Camren was born with the cord wrapped around him about three times and quite purple. The doc. hurried to fix that and he was just fine. We never would have known because there was no sign of stress. Well, he is a perfect baby boy...ten fingers, ten toes and dimples to boot.
I love this little guy so much, it's crazy how much you can love someone you just barely met. I guess carrying a baby inside you for so long has something to do with that.

Gavin's Growing Up!

So Gavin has hit some major milestones in his life too. The week Brogan started school, we decided to potty train Gavin. He was amazing and caught on so fast. He had a few accidents at first and has had a few since, but for the most part he has it down great. And he isn't even three yet. Woo-hoo! He is even staying dry at night most of the time. I did have a couple pictures of Gavin potty training and in his new "Sesame Street" undies, but I can't seem to find them. Anyway, I am so proud of him.
Gavin has also started preschool! Yeah, I know, he is young, but he is really quite bright for an almost 3 year-old! I forgot to take pictures of his first day. He was so excited to lay out his clothes the night before and talked about it all week, but when we got there, he had to hang by mom the whole time. He still does, he is my shy guy. Hopefully he will get used to it and participate more.

Brogan was so excited for school to start. In the
summer, Brogan asked me almost every day,
"Mom, when is school gonna start?" I finally
got tired of answering so we made this "Count
down the days til' school starts" calender. We
marked each day off until we made it to the first
day of school. YEA!

Having three kids is definately a little more challenging than having two! Don't get me wrong, I LOVE it. I just don't have as much time to get things done as I did before. Hence the blog catch-up! (Well that is the excuse I am using this time, it seems I am always playing catch-up though, huh!) It might take me a few days to get caught up, so bare with me! First off I wanted to post a little blurb about mine and Seth's ten year anniversary (August 13th)! Yep TEN years we've been married! Yea! It has been ten wonderful years. I am so grateful to my Heavenly Father for sending Seth into my life. He is definately not perfect, (hey who is right?) but he is definately perfect for me! We wanted to do something special for our anniversary, but with my being sooo prego, a cruise was out! We decided to just take it easy and send our kids to stay with their aunt Val for a night and Gramsie for a couple nights. It was perfect. We could sleep in our own comfortable bed, and sleep as late as we wanted to. We didn't have to pack our stuff in suit cases. We could just relax and come and go as we pleased. It was very relaxing. We had a great time! Poor Gramsie on the other hand had to deal with a sick Gavin. Poor Dale got puked on! Poor Gavin! I felt awful! Well I just wanted to say thank you to Valerie and Gramsie for watching our rascals for us. It was so nice to have some time to ourselves. I also wanted to thank Seth for being such a great husband and father. I am so glad I chose to marry him! I can't
wait to see what the next ten years will bring!

Well this isn't my favorite post, but because I
have family and friends I don't get to see very
often, here are some pictures of my "Prego"
belly. I am 35 weeks along here. Yeah, I know,
I look like I am about to pop!

I am due September 17th. Yea , only 3 more weeks
to go. I can hardly wait. I went to the doc. today.
I am dilated to a 2 1/2 -3.

Camping in McCall

So Seth decided to take the boys camping in
McCall and give me about a day and a half
all to myself. It was great and the boys had
a blast! Here are my three "Cool Dudes"!

They did some hiking, which Seth said drove
him crazy because the boys were being dare
devils and kept wanting to get too close to the
edge of the cliff. Yikes!

They loved the camp fire and roasted
marshmallows for s'mores. Neither of the boys
would eat them after they were all hot and gooey.
They liked the marshmallows better fresh out
of the bag. So Seth got his fill of gooey
marshmallows!

They got to spend some time at Payette Lake.
The boys loved the beach!

We have had lots of fun at the Boise city pools
this summer. We got a family pool pass. The
kids have enjoyed themselves. We spent most
of our pool time at Ivy Wild. It's great, it has a
way fun kiddie pool with slides and fountains.
It was also the perfect depth for both of our kids.
It took Brogan quite a few times of going to the
pool before he became completely comfortable.
By the time the pool closed for the season, he was
acting like a fish and never wanted to get out.
Gavin is totally a water baby and was never afraid.
He just jumped right in from the very start.
I'm glad we decided to get a swim pass. It sure
helped keep us cool this summer and was really
great family times!

4th of July

We had a pretty quiet 4th of July. We didn't do much until that evening.
Ann Morrison park's anniversary is the 4th of July, so they have quite a
celebration. They have activities going on throughout the day and then
they have a firework show that is pretty good. We went there for a
picnic and then just hung out until the fireworks. The kids played at the
playground and Brogan got cooled off in the fountain. Here are some
pictures of the boys being cheesey while waiting for the firewoks to start!

This is Brogan and his dance class at their dance
recital dress rehearsal. Yes, I know these pictures
are long over due! His recital was back in May!
Well, anyway here they are. He was so scared
to go up on stage that I didn't get any pictures
of him smiling, but he did the night of his recital!

but it was sure cute to watch! good job Brogan!

Sun Fuzzies.... For those of you who don't know what they are, my kids have informed me that they are the tiny dust particles you can see in a ray of sunlight. Hmmm, don't ya just love the names kids come up with for things. Brogan and Gavin have been very inquisittive about the Sun Fuzzies lately. I love that I can experience the world through their eyes. Things that I normally take for granted or even find annoying at times (dust), they find such joy and fascination in.

Birthday Gifts.....Ever since Brogan went swimming in his cousin's hot tub he has wanted "Wobble Gobbles" (water goggles). So when he opened these, he was so excited. He got two pair so he could share his wobble gobbles with his brother. He also got some other swimming gear. Now he's all set to spend the summer at the pool!

Surprise, Surprise!

So those of you who don't know, we are expecting our third child! Today we found out what our baby is going to be. For those of you who already knew that I am pregnant, I won't keep you in suspense any longer! Well let me first explain that we have had a few previous ultrasounds and in the last one we were told that it looked like maybe a girl. Let me tell you that for me it came as a complete shock when the tech told us we are having boy number three. Yep, that's right, it's a BOY! Now if I am being completely honest (even though I feel horrible about it), I was a little disappointed, and had a few crying moments! I really was hoping for a girl, but then I grew up and realized that after three miscarriages in a row I really am grateful to be having another baby at all. And from what we can tell by the ultrasound, he is a very healthy and strong baby boy! So there you have it, we are having another boy. YEAH! Wow three boys, what am I going to do??? It'll be great fun. I love my boys very much and I know I will love this new little baby boy just as much!

P.s. Seth is very excited and so is Brogan and Gavin!

Easter

We had a very nice Easter this year! We enjoyed some fun
things on the Saturday before Easter. The boys opened
an Easter present from Seth and I.

They were so excited to see what we got them!

Sunday we left for Burley to spend Easter day
at Gramsie's house. The boys had a blast
hunting Easter eggs with their cousins!
Brogan could hardly wait for the hunt to begin.
He kept asking Gramsie all day when the Easter
egg hunt was! He has a one-track mind!

After the Easter egg hunt all the kids decided to play in this really old truck while
Jared and Seth took pictures. It was pretty fun! Gavin and Parker never wanted
to get out!

April Fool's

Here's me, playing catch up again, so bear with me! April Fool's day is usually one of those holidays where we don't really do anything to celebrate! Mostly due to the fact that I can't ever think of a good prank. Well this year was different. The boys and I decided to play a joke on their dad. We found Seth's spare key to his car. We drove to his work and moved his vehicle to a different parking spot, then decorated it with balloons and ribbons and candy. We painted April Fool's on the window too. It was fun and was one of those kind of pranks where hopefully the person you are doing the prank on doesn't get too mad. I don't think we moved his car far enough away because he wasn't that late getting home, but he did say that he did worry for a minute. It was fun and he liked it. The boys had fun stuffing balloons and candy in the car too.

So Brogan has some news to share......he gets to go to
Kindergarten this year! Yea! In the process of getting
him ready to register for Kindergarten, we found out
he was going to need glasses. My first thoughts as his
mother were "Oh No!"---Sorry Brogan, I guess you got
your parents bad genes. Brogan was not sorry at all. In
fact he was so excited he wouldn't let me forget to make
him an appointment to see the eye doctor. Then when I
made the appt. he kept asking all day, "When are we
going?" Then as we were driving to the eye doctor, he
called them on his pretend cell phone to let them know we
were on our way! He got to pick out two pairs of glasses
( with help from his parents of course). Throughout the
next week or so Brogan asked every day if his glasses
had come in so we could pick them up. Needless to say,
Brogan loves his glasses and is so excited to have them!
I must say he looks absolutely adorable in his new specs
as you can see from the pictures below!

Day isn't a huge holiday, but a holiday is a holiday--anything
to give us a reason to celebrate right? Besides wearing green,

"Fast" Sunday

I needed to write this down real quick before I forget. I love the funny things my kids say and don't write them down very often, which is really sad because I forget a lot of what they say. Anyway, here is my story. My kids are still young and since I am taking them to church on my own most of the time, I still pack a snack to help keep them occupied through sacrament meeting! On fast Sunday I don't take a snack though! Also on fast Sunday the bishop hands out stickers instead of treats for passing off Articles of Faith. So this has introduced Brogan to fast Sunday a little bit. So tonight I was in the middle of ironing shirts for church tomorrow and my oldest, Brogan, says to me, "Mom, is it fast Sunday or slow Sunday?" I had to stop and giggle to myself. I guess I haven't done a very good job of explaining what '"fast" Sunday is and why we have it.

Valentine's Day

Brogan had a Valentine's Party at preschool!
He had fun decorating his Valentine bag.

Mommy helped him make his Valentine's for his
friends. This year we made Valentine butterflies
with and Airhead treat inside.

Gavin was invited to join the Valentine preschool
party! He was very excited.

They had a lot of fun at the party! They made
a Valentine craft, played a game, passed out
Valentine's, and had a treat!
Gramsie came the weekend of Valenetine's to
visit and get her hair done. It was fun to have
her here. She offered to watch all the grandkids,
who live here, while their parents went out. We
had already planned to have a family Valentine's
dinner. So we invited her to join us. I had fun
decorating the table with heart shaped plates,
napkins and candies! I made a special dinner of
pasta, salad, heart shaped bread sticks, chocolate
covered strawberries, and punch. It was so nice
and fun and I don't even have proof. I completely
forgot to take pictures. Dang it! After dinner, we
took Gramsie up on her offer to watch the kids,
and Seth and I went to the movies!

A couple of weekends ago, my
boys had a sleepover. We invited
their cousin, Alex, to spend the
night. They seemed to really
enjoy themselves. I took the
boys to McDonalds for dinner
and to play and get some energy
out. Then we rented a few
movies. Here they all are,
crowded in the top bunk, ready
to watch "Horton Hears a Who"!

too much, so they decided to....

Bedtime.....hmmm, well that's not exactly what happens
at night when we kiss our kids goodnight and turn out the
lights. This is a time when we hear our boys become the
best of friends. It turns into a slumber party. Even
though we expect them to close their eyes and go to sleep,
we sure enjoy hearing them laugh up a storm as they talk
and play together before they get tired enough to fall asleep.
Lately, they have been into knock knock jokes. It's hilarious!

Then they bust up laughing. Don't you just love" little kid jokes"!
Anyway, once things have quieted down, we go in to check on
them. We have found Gavin asleep under the car rug, under the
bed, curled up next to the door, and this time curled up next to
his big brother in the top bunk. We decided to take a picture. It
was too cute to pass up!

Today my boys decided they wanted to make
robots. Brogan had grand ideas of making one
that would really walk and talk and do really
cool stuff, but his mommy just isn't that good.
So we just decorated some shoe boxes to
look like awesome robots!

Still playing catch up from Christmas!
During Christmas break we were able
to visit some family. First we stopped
off for a visit with Seth's dad, Steve, and
grandma Catie. We had fun visiting
with them and going to lunch with
Steve. As always, they spoil us for
Christmas. Thanks, Steve and Catie!

Then we were off to my sister's
house in Rexberg. My kids, nieces
and nephews helped me make
some yummy candy. They crushed
the candy canes and helped stir
them in the chocolate.

My kids had fun playing with their
cousins. Michelene came over too.

Seth and I had fun trying out
the Wii. I really had fun.

Next we were off to my brother-in-
law, Jared's, house. We spent a few
days with them, including New Year's
Eve. Gavin and his cousin, Parker, had
tons of fun together. They played so
well together. It was fun to watch
them. Of course my son was always
the instigator of all the naughty stuff
they did!

Last stop before we headed home
was my mother-in-law, Jan's, house.
We had a nice visit and nice dinner.
Gramsie really outdid herself this
year and crocheted evryone a pair
of slippers. Very Cute! We love them!
Thanks Gramsie!Then we finally went
home. We love to visit family, but after
being away from home for about a
week, I am definately ready to be home.

We had a nice quiet Christmas. The boys didn't wake up
until about 7:40, so we got to sleep in a bit. Everyone had
fun checking out their stockings and opening presents.
Then we enjoyed a big breakfast of cinnamon rolls,
scrambled eggs, suasages, and orange juice. Yum! It
was so nice just to be home and relax while the kids
played with their new toys. A very enjoyable day indeed!

. Traditions

Most Christmas Eve's since we have lived in Boise
have been spent with my brother-in-law and his
in-laws. His wife is from Mexico, so we get to
enjoy some authentic Mexican food. This year we
decided to stay home and do our own thing.
In my family, Christmas day dinner was always
Turkey Tostado's(Mexican food), which are really
yummy, but my husband hates them. Needless to
say I rarely get them on Christmas unless we go
home for Christmas! We decided to keep the
Mexican food theme as a Christmas Eve tradition,
but have lots of choices so everyone is happy.
We've also made brownie's and peppermint ice
cream a tradition.
Another tradition for us on Christmas Eve is to talk
about Jesus and read Christmas stories and sing
Christmas songs!
One last tradition I'll share is opening a new pair of
pajamas on Christmas Eve!

Gavin is an old pro at opening
presents now, since he just had
his birthday. He really loves
his Mickey Mouse pajamas!

Tressie, my sister, is in an institute choir.
The choir did a Christmas program and we were
able to go to it. They asked that any little kids in the
choir members families who wanted to dress up
in nativity costumes could participate in one of
their numbers. Brogan wanted to be a shepherd.
He looked so cute and was so brave to walk up on
stage by himself.
It was a really neat program. They did some
spiritual songs and some funny ones. We had
a good time. Thanks, Tressie, for inviting us!

For Christmas a few years ago, my mom gave us these
cute "Count the Days 'til Christmas" bags. Each bag is
filled with a slip of paper with a scripture and a family
activity written on it, and a small surprise-like a piece
of candy or a little toy or sticker. It has become a fun
tradition for me and my family. My kids can hardly
wait to open a Christmas Bag each night!

We had a great (early) birthday party for Gavin
with his cousins, but we had to celebrate on his
real birthday too. He had lots of fun opening
presents. Brogan was trying very hard to be
happy for his little brother and not be jealous.
We have a birthday tradition in our family;
Whoever's birthday it is gets to pick what they
want for their special birthday dinner. Gavin
picked Mac &Cheese (surprise, surprise), jello,
cheesy bread, and green beans. For dessert he
chose lemon cake! YUM YUM!
Anyway, I think he had a fun day!

We had a really fun time the weekend before Thanksgiving in Pocatello. When we arrived on Thursday we met two of my sisters, Michelene and Deidra, and their kids for lunch. Then we took the kids to the park so they could play while we visited.

Friday night was girls night out. Erin and her friend, Teressa, planned a FABULOUS " Twilight party, which included: beautiful decor, a seven course Italian dinner( served by a few of our husbands), movie tickets to the "Twilight" movie, games, and a chocolate fountain. Saturday morning was for the guys to do their thing. They played pool I think! While they were off doing their thing the kids were involved in a double birthday party for my niece Haven and my son Gavin!(Gavin's b-day isn't until Dec. 22, but the kids were all together and we thought it would be fun!). We had a jungle theme birthday party. I think the kids had fun.

Then Saturday afternoon we had a nice family dinner! Then that night, after the kids went to bed, most of the adults went cosmic bowling. It turned out to be a really fun weekend! Thanks Jared and Erin!

My son, Brogan, has very a creative streak! He loves to do craft projects. Gavin loves to do whatever his big brother is doing. So they made these great masks and have had lots of fun playing with them!

I've gotten a little behind on my blogging! Thought I better get caught up! I found these pictures I had forgotten I took. This was Boise's first snow this year in October! The kids had to go check it out. Brogan loves the snow, Gavin was not too sure about it!

We love Halloween in our family! We
love to dress up. This year Gavin was
a cuddly, fuzzy bunny. He is sooo cute!
I had made this costume for Brogan
when he was Gavin's age. I am so glad
we could get some more use out of it!
Brogan talks all year about what he wants to
be for Halloween. I think it is his favorite
holiday. This year he decided to be a bumble bee.
He has really enjoyed the"Bee Movie" and got his
idea from watching that. Doesn't he make an
absolutely adorable bee!
Aunt Tressie spent part of Halloween night with
us. She came for dinner then went to our ward's
"Trunk-or-Treat" with us. She wore a very original
costume....She was a "deviled egg"! HaHa!

I was a mommy bumble bee this year. We

had actually bought the wings and anntenae
for Brogan's costume, but they ended up being
way too big. So I decided to be a mommy bee!

I actually convinced Seth to dress up this year.
He never dresses up for Halloween. So he is
the daddy bunny! Yay for Seth!

We make a crazy family of Bunny's and Bee's!

Alex came to spend the night so we were
able to see he and his family all dressed up!

My friend Shelly gave me the idea to make our

meals fun and festive on Halloween. So we
started our day out with ghosty pancakes and
jack-o-lantern pancakes. They did not turn out
exactly the way I hoped they would, but my kids
thought they were neat!For lunch we had "Boo Bugs" (which are just

mini pigs in a blanket dressed up to look like
bugs), orange soda, and orange chips. The kids
thought the bugs were great!

For dinner I made everything orange or almost

orange. Sloppy Joes, orange jello, orange chips
orange kool-aid with orange soda! We had aunt
Tressie over to share our holiday meal!

We love the fall season at our house. It is one of our favorite times of year. We love
the colors, the smells, the temperatures, and the holidays. I took these pictures of
the kids having fun in our fall leaves before we cleaned them up! They had lots of
fun and looked so cute!

Preschool Halloween Party

Brogan has had so much fun in preschool the
last couple of years. Our preschool group meets
on Thursdays. Each mom takes a turn teaching
a letter of the alphabet. I really enjoy coming up
with fun ideas when it is my turn to teach. I was
very excited when I ended up with the letter "H"
and so close to Halloween. I decided to have a
Halloween Party. I made cute little mummy
invitations to remind them about preschool and
to invite them to wear their costumes. We read
a spooky story about Mickey Mouse and a
Haunted House. I made a Haunted House out of
graham crackers for each kid to decorate with
frosting and candy. Then we played Halloween
Hopscotch! It turned out to be a lot of fun!

The Pumpkin Patch

This year we decided to pick our pumpkins out
at the Pumpkin Patch. It was lots of fun. The
owners had it decorated so cute with great places
to take pictures!

Seth even got into the spirit of things and helped
to pick out the perfect pumpkin!

There were so many pumpkins to choose from!
We had never seen so many pumpkins all at once!

Brogan took great care in finding his pumpkin.
He kept trading in "the perfect pumpkin" for
another "perfect pumpkin"!

Gavin just couldn't find a pumpkin he liked.
They were all "GROSSY" to him!

Hi, we decided to jump on the "blogging band wagon". So this is us....Daddy Seth, Mommy Gillian, Brogan our 4-year old, and Gavin our almost 2-year old.

We tried to do family pictures on our own again. It has worked pretty well in the past even though it is quite an ordeal. We have to take about a million pictures to get one we like. Ironically enough the first picture we took this time was our best, except for the back drop. Oh well, we will try again!
